The Pan-Armenian Federation of Film Producers (PFFP) is taking part in the Venice Production Bridge, held as part of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, from September 4 to 11. In Venice, the Federation is presenting two initiatives: the Cinema Alliance program and the VERA film project.
Cinema Alliance is a network of film production companies and professionals operating under the auspices of PFFP. Its aim is to provide international film crews with a single point of access to production services in Armenia. The initiative covers various stages of film production, from location scouting to post-production. In Venice, the program is also being presented to participants of the Venice Film Production Market.
The Federation’s second project presented in Venice is VERA, an international co-production between Estonia, Armenia, Poland, Belgium and the United Arab Emirates. The story centers on two parallel events unfolding in Martakert on the 207th day of the blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh. The film’s creative team includes Estonian and Armenian professionals, while post-production is planned to take place in Poland. According to PFFP, the project is currently approaching the production stage.
Federation representatives are also participating in professional film industry events and meetings in Venice. The September 5 program includes a reception hosted by the European Producers Club (EPC), while on September 7 the Federation is scheduled to take part in a professional discussion dedicated to incentive programs developed by film commissions.
On September 8, PFFP International Relations Officer Ani Galstyan is scheduled to give an interview to the Italian multilingual platform FRED — Film Radio Entertainment & Dialogue.
According to the Federation, around 30 meetings with representatives of the international film industry and film commissions are planned during the Venice visit. PAFFP intends to report on the agreements reached and the results of the meetings at its plenary session to be held in Yerevan this autumn.
