As part of the ongoing Moscow International Film Festival, a retrospective screening of the works of renowned Armenian filmmaker Harutyun Khachatryan is taking place. Dedicated to the director’s 70th anniversary, the program is titled “Armenia: Documentary Frescoes of Harutyun Khachatryan.”
The festival audience has the opportunity to revisit Khachatryan’s acclaimed films, including Kond, Border, Return to the Promised Land, White Town, Return of the Poet, Documentarist, and Three Graves of the Artist. Each of these works offers a deep exploration of time, memory, and identity through Khachatryan’s distinct documentary style.
In the festival’s official program, cultural expert and Director of the New Institute of Cultural Studies Nina Kochelyaeva notes: “The name of Armenian director and documentarian Harutyun Khachatryan is now part of world cinema history, and this program honoring his 70th birthday pays tribute to his cinematic mastery.”
