The 23rd Golden Apricot International Film Festival has concluded in Yerevan. The winners were announced during the closing ceremony held at the Cinema House. KinoPress reports the results of the festival’s competition programs.
In the International Feature Competition, the festival’s main award, the Golden Apricot, went to Milagros Mumenthaler’s The Currents. The Silver Apricot was awarded to Past Future Continuous by Morteza Ahmadvand and Firouzeh Khosrovani, while Sebastian Brameshuber’s London received a Special Mention from the international jury.
In the Regional Competition, the Golden Apricot was awarded to Amir Azizi’s Inside Amir, while Alexandre Koberidze’s Dry Leaf received the Silver Apricot. Dry Leaf was also awarded the FIPRESCI Prize, presented by the International Federation of Film Critics.
In the Apricot Stone short film competition, the Golden Apricot went to Serouj Hovsepian’s Dialogues Solitaires. The film also received the Gennadi Melkonian Special Award.
The Silver Apricot in the Apricot Stone competition was awarded to Ovsanna Gevorgyan’s Paid Mourners. The jury presented Special Mentions to Sona Khachatryan’s Relic and Arthur Sahakyan’s Together Alone.
Tereza Nvotová’s Father received the Award for Distribution in Armenia and Georgia, accompanied by €6,000 in financial support for the film’s regional release. The film had its world premiere in the Orizzonti competition section of the Venice International Film Festival in 2025.
The 23rd Golden Apricot International Film Festival concluded with a screening of Godfrey Reggio’s Once Within a Time.
