The Golden Globes has announced its first event dedicated to honoring creative achievements in film and television across the Caucasus and Central Asia. The Golden Globes Silk Road Tribute Gala will be held in Uzbekistan on October 23 and 24, 2026.
According to the announcement released on June 23, the initiative is part of the Golden Globes’ ongoing commitment to recognizing outstanding achievements in film and television across diverse cultural landscapes.
Golden Globes President Helen Hoehne said the organization remains focused on artistic excellence and the craft of great storytelling.
“Central Asia and the Caucasus are home to rich creative traditions and compelling new voices. We are proud to recognize the artistry behind these stories and support the creators who bring them to life on a global stage,” Hoehne said.
The event will be produced and presented by Vivid Strategies in partnership with the Golden Globes and local partner Leto Productions. Orlando John will support the creative development of the Silk Road Tribute Gala and talent relations management.
The initiative will celebrate the achievements of film and television artists from the historic Silk Road region, highlighting the cultural heritage of the Caucasus and Central Asia, as well as the long-standing traditions of creative exchange that have connected the region for centuries.
Giorgi Rtskhiladze, Co-Founder and Partner of Vivid Strategies, described the initiative as a historic moment for the region.
“For decades, filmmakers from Central Asia and the Caucasus have produced extraordinary work that has too often gone unseen by global audiences. This initiative opens new pathways for recognition, opportunity, and international collaboration,” Rtskhiladze said.
Further details regarding the event’s programming and honorees will be announced at a later date.
