The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 529 artists and executives to join its 2026 membership class. Among them is Armenian cinematographer Suren Tadevosyan, who was invited to join the Academy’s Cinematographers Branch.
In the Academy’s official list, Tadevosyan is credited for his work on Yasha and Leonid Brezhnev and The Reverse Side of the Medal.
Tadevosyan is a Yerevan-born director of photography, photographer and art director. He has worked on feature and documentary films in Armenia and abroad, and is a member of the Union of Film Professionals of Armenia, the Armenian Cinematographers Guild, the Armenian National Film Academy and IMAGO, the International Federation of Cinematographers.
Several members of the Armenian diaspora were also included in this year’s list of invitees. Aleen Keshishian, a prominent Hollywood talent manager and producer, was invited in the Artist Representatives category. She is the founder and CEO of Lighthouse Management + Media and has represented major figures in the entertainment industry.
Josh Haroutunian was invited in the Marketing and Public Relations category. He is known for his work in film publicity and awards campaigns through Divergent PR.
Natalie Musteata, co-director of the Oscar-winning short film Two People Exchanging Saliva, was invited in the Short Films category. Musteata has previously spoken about her Armenian roots through her maternal grandmother, Luiza Derderian-Marcoci.
According to the Academy, this year’s invitees include 95 Oscar nominees, among them 21 winners. Fifty-three percent of the 2026 invitees come from 60 countries and territories outside the United States.
The Academy noted that an invitation does not automatically make a person a member. Only those who accept the invitation will be added to the organization’s membership this year.
